Technical Board

INTRODUCTION

The Technical Board which serves for a period of 4 years consists of at least four and a maximum of eight elected Member companies in addition to the Managers.

Each of the elected Members appoints and names a sole Representative to sit in the Technical Board to serve throughout the 4-year term.

A Chairman is elected from among its Members’ Representatives for the same period.

The Secretary General of FAIR Federation attends the meetings of the Technical Board by virtue of his  office.

The Technical Board implements the general policy of the Syndicate, as determined by the General Assembly.

Holder of B.A. LAW (1981) and Diploma in International Law, Joined Al Ain Ahlia when the Company was formed in 1976 as Al Ain Branch Manager and was appointed as the General Manager in 1995

Erdinç Gökalp - Member


Graduated from Kuleli Military High School and Turkish Military Academy, Department of Business Administration. Holds a master’s degree in insuran-ce from Marmara University, Institute of Banking and Insurance. Started his career at Anadolu Sigorta as Specialist at the Marketing Department in 1991, he moved internaly within many departments and was promted to many senior positions.

Omar Gouda - Member


Holds Bachelor of Insurance from the Cairo University 1982. along with Associ-ateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) April 1994 – London. During his 39 years of experience in the insurance industry he held various senior posi-tions he currently holds the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Misr Insurance Company since November 2020

Ramaswamy Narayanan - Member


Mr. Ramaswamy Narayanan joined GIC as a direct recruit officer in 1988 and over the last three decades, he has been involved in various functions within GIC.
In his association with the reinsurance function, he has handled all the non-life classes like Fire, Engineering, Miscellaneous, Motor, Liability, Aviation, Marine and Agriculture and also most of the territories around the world. While handling the business portfolio in the Indian insurance market, he has handled many challenges in the fast-changing non-tariffed portfolio, which included quoting for and leading many treaties, as well as providing out-of-the-box solutions to clients to cater to both protecting the portfolio as well as providing capital relief.
In his tenure of four and half years as CEO, UK he was involved in handling the operations of the Branch, the newly setup Lloyds syndicate of GIC (GIC 1947) as well as the Corporate Member of GIC.
Currently, he handles the functions of HR, OSD and International Operations at GIC’s Head Office in Mumbai

Sundaresan Sridharan - Member


Has more than 33 years of insurance and reinsurance experience is working as Group Head – Technical & Reinsurance since 2013 in Gulf Insurance Group, Kuwait. His key responsibilities include management of overall technical and reinsurance functions at the Group level. He is also heading Technical Committees and Technical Working Groups at GIG.”

Romel Tabaja - Member


Holds a B.Sc. in Banking and Finance from the Lebanese American University in Beirut. Prior to being appointed to the Oman Re team in 2016, he was Deputy CEO at Trust Re for five years. Romel’s multifaceted experience comprises a variety of challenging underwriting positions, marketing, manag-ing portfolios as well as general management. He has a Certificate in Rein-surance along with a Diploma in Insurance. He has also completed Executive Management and Financial Programs at INSEAD Business School, France.

Ahmad Noor Azhari Abdul Manaf (Arie) - Member


Ahmad Noor Azhari Abdul Manaf is the President & Chief Executive Officer of Malaysian Re Berhad. A product of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII) majoring in Investment Analysis and Insurance (Risk Management) respectively, he brings with him nearly three decades of experience in insurance and reinsurance.
Ahmad Noor Azhari has worked with leading companies such as Etiqa Insurance (MNI), Hannover Re, Malaysia and Kuwait Re Far East Regional Office where the last position held was as the Principle Officer. He has been a part of Malaysian Re since August 2016 and has served as the Chief Underwriting Officer since December 2021.
In his previous role, Ahmad Noor Azhari was responsible for the underwriting of Business Region 2 (East Asia, ASEAN, Africa & Europe) and has contributed significantly to the growth and success of Malaysian Re. He was appointed as President & Chief Executive Officer of Malaysian Reinsurance Berhad on 1 April 2023.

Nabil Hajjar - Member & MD


Joined Trust Re in 2000 to manage FAIR Oil & Energy Insurance Syndicate beside other duties. During the 40 years of his career, Nabil has held senior positions in many reputable insurance & reinsurance companies in the UAE, USA, Cyprus, and Bahrain.

Mo’men Mukhtar - Ex-Officio


Graduated in B. Commerce and Business Administration (Major; Internation-al Trade) from Helwan University - Cairo, Egypt (1983) followed many Insur-ance related courses. Joined the insurance industry in 1986 and held senior positions in various insurance companies in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. His latest position before joining the FAIR Federation in January 2022 was Chairman & MD of Misr Insurance Company in Egypt.
